Frank Genna Obituary

frank p. genna, 86 PALM HARBOUR, Fla. - Frank P. Genna, 86, of Palm Harbour passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010. Born Nov. 30, 1924, the son of Rocco Genna and Angela Davita. Frank graduated from South Beloit High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He worked at Fairbanks Morse and bartended at Buffa's Supper Club in South Beloit, where he met his wife, Helen. Frank and his brother, Mike, opened Frank and Mike's in 1957, which soon became one of the most popular night clubs in the Stateline area. The club had music and dancing with live entertainment. They owned and operated Frank and Mike's until 1979. Member of South Beloit Business Men, Lions Club and American Legion. After retirement Frank and Helen moved to Florida in 1980, where he enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards at the club. Survivors include wife, Helen; daughters, Becky Romeo and Rhonda (Ernest) Streu; sons, Rocky Genna and Randy (Debra) Genna; grandchildren, Paul (Kris) Alongi, Frank Alongi, Jason Romeo and family; and nephew, Michael Genna and family. Predeceased by father, Rocco Genna; mother, Angela Davita; stepfather, Paul Davita; and brothers, Anthony and Mike Genna. Per his wishes, he will be cremated. Arrangements by Dobies Funeral Home in Holiday.
