Fred Pearson Obituary
Fred E. Pearson Jr., 82, of Rockford passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was born January 25, 1935, in New Auburn, WI, the son of Fred and Fern (Schroeder) Pearson. He met the love of his life, Darlene Vetterkind, and the two married on December 28, 1957, in Dubuque, IA. Together they relocated to Germany, where Fred was stationed for 2 years serving in the United States Army. He enjoyed a 44 year long career at Sundstrand Corp. until his retirement. He was an honorable man who was devoted to his God and his church. Fred enjoyed golfing and any Wisconsin sporting team, particularly the Green Bay Packers. Above all, Fred was a loving husband, father, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Darlene; son, David (Christine Haeggquist) Pearson; special nieces and nephews; many wonderful sisters and brothers-in-law, family and friends. He is predeceased by his daughter, Diane, parents, and brothers, Bob and Jim Pearson.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Broadway Covenant Church, with visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service. Burial Arlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Broadway Covenant Church, Northern Illinois Hospice, or Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center appreciated. Express online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com
