Guy Lungo Obituary

GUY A. LUNGO, 77 TAMPA, Fla. - Guy A. Lungo, 77l, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at Melech Hospice House. Born July 12, 1935, in Rockford, Ill., son of Anthony Lungo and Nancy (Lungo) Wallunas. Guy was a 1953 graduate of East High School where he lettered in swimming. After graduating from Bradley University he joined the Marines and graduated from Officers Candidate School as a Lieutenant. Guy was an avid traveler having lived all over the country including California, Florida, Hawaii and finally retiring in Mexico. He especially enjoyed fishing and scuba diving, which included numerous trips with his brothers to many tropical destinations. Surviving are three children, Teresa Lungo, Robin (Jim) Durkee of Tampa, Fla., and Angela Lungo of Plant City, Fla.; six grandchildren, Brandie, Lindsey, Paris, Ryan, Marshal and Jesse; three brothers, Jack Lungo, Phil (Mary) Lungo and Mike (Maria) Lungo; sister, Nancy (Larry) Gilbertson; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents and son, little Guy. Guy was a sweet soul with a great zest for living and a sense of humor to match. He will be missed deeply by all who loved him. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

I didn't know Guy, however, I went to
school with Jack and have had many
visits to Rockford and stayed at Jacks
place on Rock River. My condolences to
Jack and his brother Phil.
