Jack Broughton Obituary
Jack Alan Broughton, 63, of Cherry Valley, IL, died at 7:31 p.m., Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Swedish American Hospital followed by a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral ceremonies will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Heartland Community Church, 1280 S Alpine Road, Rockford, IL with Pastor Josh Peigh officiating. Burial will be in Durand Township Cemetery, Durand, IL. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of ceremonies Thursday. McCorkle Funeral Home-Durand Chapel, 101 W Main Street, Durand, IL assisted the family. A memorial will be established. Jack was a great friend to Mike and Pat, shared his faith and love for his family. He was a great support for people who needed someone to listen to them and show that he cared. He will be missed. We are praying for the family and loved ones.

Jack was an awesome guy. Really a mentor to me - he took time out of most everyday to help show me the ropes. We were office mates for a time and I have to say, that time sharing w/ Jack was probably the time I learned the most (and got shaped the most). I owe quite a bit to Jack for his time and sometimes fatherly advice.
