Jeffrey Skaradzinski Obituary

Jeffrey C. Skaradzinski, 63 BELVIDERE - Jeffrey C. Skaradzinski, 63, of Belvidere, IL, passed away in his home, Thursday, October 1, 2015, from complications associated with

his muscular dystrophy. Jeff was born November 13, 1951, in Milwaukee, WI, son of Chester and Ruby Skaradzinski. He received his bachelor's degree from Cardinal Stritch University. Jeff recently retired from Sundstrand. He was a member of Northeast Christian Church in Rockford, IL, and was very close with his Life Group. Jeff had an enormous love for the Green Bay Packers, and was a stockholder of the team. He loved reading the Bible and his daily devotions. Jeff liked classic cars, especially his "Black Beauty" AMX, and the 1952 Jaguar his daughter helped him build. He was very good at being a stubborn Latvian. He enjoyed cooking, and sausage making using his dad's recipe and antique sausage stuffer. Jeff is loved and will be missed by his daughters, Heather (Dan Davis) Skaradzinski, Veronica Skaradzinski; brothers, Daryl (Anne) Skaradzinski, Richard Stahle, Marty (Betsy) Stahle, Tim Stahle; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and mother of his children, Yvonne (Dale Naleway) Schultz. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Karen Skaradzinski. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. I am so blessed to have counted Jeff among my friends in Rockford. My favorite memories of Jeff include eating barbeque at the stand across the road from his house, deep conversations about the Lord as we formulated small group discussion questions, and the times I'd bring a group of high school guys over to his house to help him with chores. He always took the opportunity to address those young men about what was most important in life. And believe me, they were a captive audience. I was priviledged to witness Jeff's relationship with Jesus grow, and can bear witness that He had a deep faith in God. I will miss him and look forward to the day that we can continue our friendship in heaven.

We are so sorry to hear of Jeff's passing, although we know he is running around in heaven, free from all disease. We didn't know him well but always enjoyed chatting with him and seeing his smiling face at church each Sunday. His small group has a huge space to fill as we know how important he was to them. Rest well, Jeff. See you in heaven!

Jeff was a long time friend, a co-worker at Sundstrand and a super tough individual. He took on MS and gave it his all, I cannot remember ever seeing or hearing Jeff say or indicate "Poor Me or Why me"? He smiled and played the cards he was dealt. If I was to meet him at the little restaurant across the road, he wouldn't let me pick him up. He would just say I'll meet you there and he would get in his motorized scooter or chair and here he came toolin' down Route 20. Sadly I did not get to see Jeff as often as I'd like in his later years. We always had to banter back and forth on his "Packers" and my "Vikings". Rest in Peace Jeffski!

Jeff was an amazing person, an inspiration to all those around him, even though he was a Packer's fan. He mentored two of my sons through all sorts of building projects and did all this with a biblical view that he passed on to them, helping them to see God's plan for them. He was an encouragement to me and my lovely wife and was always at the center of projects, hands on, not just telling people what to do and stepping back. He truly was a servant and we are blessed to have known him.
