September 27, 2017
Dear Jack,
I am sitting here 6500 miles away in Japan with a heavy heart after having read about the passing of JoAnn on the internet today. I wasn't aware of her illness so her passing came as a huge shock to both Toshie and me.
Our sympathy goes out to you, and your children Karen, Kirk, Craig, and your grandchildren and other family members.
During the years that I knew JoAnn, I found her to be a very kind, caring, and a special type of lady.
I still recall one of our trips back in 2011 when we got together for a wonderful evening at Diane Lewis' house. Memories like that are very special.
As I sit here in mourning JoAnn's passing, I also know that she and Kent are now together with the Lord. God bless you Jack and the whole family.
With deepest sympathy,
