JOANNE D. SACCO, 91 ROCKFORD — Joanne D. Sacco, 91, of Rockford died at 10:06 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20. 2009, peacefully in her home. Born Aug. 8, 1918, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Michael and Frances Prioletta. Lived most of her life in Rockford, coming here from Milwaukee. Married August (Augie) Sacco on April 27, 1941. She was employed for many years as the smiling hostess by Maria’s Restaurant. Member of St. Anthony Church, Alter & Rosary Society, the former Aragona Club, and St. Mary’s Mutual Benefit Society. Joanne and her husband had no children, but they had 32 God children. She never forgot her family and friends on special occasions, and she was most remembered for her off key rendition of Happy Birthday with a God bless you closer. She will also always be remembered for her loving generous spirit. Survivors include sister, Rita Cannariato; brother, John Prioletta, both of Rockford; loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, -nephews, great-great-nieces, -nephews and cousins; special God child, Kris Stockman; and lifelong friend, Carm Cason. She was predeceased by husband, Augie; sister, Mary Paris, and brother-in-law, Edward Paris; sister, Catherine Provasi, and brother-in-law, Louis Provasi; brother-in-law, Sam Cannariato; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Rose Sacco. The family would like to give a special thank you to the caring staff of the Bickford House. Mass at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, in St. Anthony Church, with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov, 22, in Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. Monday to time of service in the church.
