John Dannenberg Obituary

JOHN E. 'JACK' DANNENBERG, 83 CINCINNATI - John E. "Jack" Dannenberg, 83, husband of beloved late wife Patricia Dannenberg, passed away suddenly after an accidental fall, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, surrounded by his children. Loving father of and survived by Joy Dannenberg, Robert and Laura Nyswonger, Candace (Nyswonger) and Jeffery Gammelin, and Gregory and Helene Dannenberg; grandfather of Andrew and Breeze (Gammelin) Odeen, Ursula Gammelin, Cherry Gammelin, Carmen Nyswonger and Stuart Nyswonger; great-grandfather to Kemper Odeen. Jack lived a very mobile life and resided for many years in Binghamton, N.Y.; Toledo, Ohio; Rockford and Woodridge, Ill.; Cincinnati; and, for the past nine years, in Apopka, Fla. He was a graduate of Northwestern University, an Army veteran and worked for many years in regional sales and as vice president of sales for several automotive-related companies. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting all his family on yearly visits. His many friends and family members can take solace in the fact that during the last six weeks of his life, he managed to visit all his family located around the country and attended his 65th high school union where he saw many of his oldest friends. He spent his last day with his son Robert, boating on the Ohio River and his last words as he stepped off the boat and fell were, "God could not have painted a more perfect day." Dad will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, Ill., next to his beloved Patty late this week. No services are planned as his many friends are scattered throughout the country and many are of an age limiting travel. See guestbook at strawserfuneralhome.com.
