Mary, I'm so sorry to hear about Dr. Van. He took such good care of me when I was little and had Osteomylitis. Then I got to work with you and you have the same kind gentle spirit. You and your family are in my prayers

Dear Mary, I am in Florida and will miss the service for your father. What an exceptional man. He was highly respected by all his fellow physicians and a rock solid surgeon. I also remember him as a teacher in my class at the med school when he was kind enough to volunteer for the session on case histories used in teaching the pathology of the central nervous system. We both enjoyed the session and the students always looked forward to the class. He not only was a good surgeon, as VP for Medical affairs he handled many administrative affairs with a firm, but fair approach. They don't make many like him anymore. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Our thoughts are with the VanLandingham family. We cannot thank the Doctor enough for his surgery talents on our three month old son in 1985. He had a somewhat rare condition, but your Dad did a great job on his brain surgery, with a complete recovery. We will be forever grateful. Now our son has his own wonderful family, and we wish your father all the peace he has earned.

To the VanLandingham family, my sincere condolences. I worked with Dr. Van, as we respectfully and lovingly called him. He was the kindest, brilliant and fun gentleman I have had the pleasure to be acquainted with. Surely, the Lord needed him more than here on Earth.

I met Dr VanLandingham as a student nurse at Rockford Memorial. He was one of my favorite drs there. I'm now an old, retired nurse and still remember him. I'm delighted to know that he lived a long and fulfilling life. I hope that his family is at peace with his death and remembers the good times. God bless you all.

Dear Mary, Carol and all Dr. VanLandingham's Family, Two word always come to mind when we think of your Dad "dedicated" and "talented". In medical treatment you would seldom be able to find anyone who would be more successful at working out solutions which almost always involved his being knowledgeable and insightful. We'll never forget his coming to help Craig's Mom at her home on Harlem Boulevard with her being able to walk with stenosis of the spine. The third word that fits your Dad is fun. When we saw your Dad when Craig was going through hospital tests 3 years ago he was helping patients like a jolly elf--happy and busy. We're sure his patients benefitted. We hold your family in high regard and are saddened by your loss--now with both parents gone. Our thoughts are with you. Love, Craig and Terri Lindmark

Dear Carol and family, As Headmaster of Keith Country Day School, I remember you, a beautiful dark eyed student and your beloved parents. Your father was the neurosurgeon that took care of my dear friend Dr. Eric Sonnenberg. I share with you my strong testimony that life is eternal through the atoning sacrifice of our Precious Savoir Jesus Christ. I firmly believe in the resurrection and we all may look forward to taking our loved ones in our arms once again. I lost my Sweetheart of 64 years two years ago and look forward to our eternal marriage and family relationship in our Heavenly Father's Kingdom. Heaven would not be heaven without our beloved family! I send you my deepest sympathy and blessings and love.
