JOSHUA MICHAEL SCHIRO, 29 ROCKFORD - Joshua Michael Schiro, 29, Rockford, left this world to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Born on Mother's Day, May 8, 1983, in Rockford, son of Michael R. Schiro and Karla K. Carpenter. Graduated from Boylan High School in 2001, where he played football and baseball. He attended Rock Valley College and Western Illinois University. He was employed at the Rockton Avenue Logli Supermarket for several years. Member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and also attended North Love Baptist Church. He started playing baseball at Roy Gale Park when he was young and continued his love for baseball. He was also an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. Josh was intellectually gifted with a very keen mind. He was a caring young man who loved his family very much. Survivors include his daughter, Taylor; mother, Karla K. (Tom Dal Santo) Carpenter; father, Michael R. Schiro; sister, Sarah (Jordan) Blume; paternal grandmother, Carol A. Schiro; aunts and uncles, Brad (Jennifer) Carpenter; John (Susie) Schiro and Heidi Hower; cousins, Michael Pete, Caroline Carpenter, Nicole (Brandon) Droy, Alexandra Schiro, Jessie Schiro, Frankie Schiro; and numerous other family members, friends and his special pets, Griffey and Sox. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, April 15, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Harrison Cemetery. Visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
