LEIF GUNNAR LARSON, 87 WEST BEND, WI - Leif Gunnar Larson, 87, of West Bend (Cedarburg), Wisconsin died with his family at his side on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014. Born Aug. 30, 1927, in Rockford, IL; the son of Robert and Astrid (Wass) Larson. Graduated from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, Class of 1950. Married Carleen (Swenson) Larson on May 29, 1948. Leif and Carleen lived in Rockford, IL; Cedarburg, WI; Elkhart Lake, WI; and for the last 14 years wintered in Mesquite, NV, where they were instrumental in the organization of Mesquite Lutheran Church and the Child Care Center. Leif retired in 1992 as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Milsco Manufacturing Company. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, strong faith in God, musical gifts and love of woodworking and golf. He is survived by his wife, Carleen (Swenson); son, Greg (Marge) Larson of Middleton, WI; daughters, Susan (Jim) Cvach of Marble Canyon, AZ, Marta (Steve) Ballering of Jackson, WI; grandchildren, Matthew Larson, Andrew (Laurie) Larson, Sarah Larson, Sierra Cvach, Wyatt Cvach, Scott Ballering and Ryan Ballering; great-grandsons, Max and Charlie Larson; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and good friends. Preceded in death by son, Scott Charles Larson; his parents; his brother, Dr. C. Robert Larson; his sister, Frances Swanson; and many friends. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, N60W6047 Columbia Rd., Cedarburg, WI, with a luncheon to follow. A private internment will take place at Arlington Memorial Park in Rockford, IL.
