FATHER LORENZO GONZALEZ HERNANDEZ, 40 ROCKFORD - Father Lorenzo Gonzalez Hernandez, age 40, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord at 8:15 p.m. Saturday March 15, 2014. He was born September 5, 1973 in San Filipe, Guanajuato, Mexico the son of Bernardo Gonzalez Longovia and Josephina Hernandez Vargas. He lived 12 years in Rockford coming here from Mexico. Father Lorenzo was Parochial Administrator at St. Edward Parish for 2 years. Survivors include his parents and 8 brothers and sisters. Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at St. Edward Catholic Church with Bishop David J. Malloy officiating. Private family burial. Visitation will be Tuesday March 18, 2014 in the church from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Arrangements are with Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 707 Marchesano Dr. Condolences to: www.gasparinioliverifuneral.net.

I went to St Edwards when Father Lorenzo came he was shy and humble and we all came quickly to like him he is now with the Lord whom he served so well.Rest in peace you will be missed.
