Marjorie Wire Obituary
Marjorie Wire, 93, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Fairhaven Retirement Center in Rockford, Illinois. She was born January 2, 1923, in Capron, Illinois, the daughter of Elon and Lillian (Schaeffer) Wesson. Marjorie graduated from Capron High School. She married Lisle Wire on February 26, 1943. They lived on the family farm for many years before moving to a house they built on Silver Fox Drive in Belvidere. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, especially flowers of which gladiolas were her favorite. She sewed clothing for all the girls, helped with the farm work, and wove rugs on a loom. She served as a 4-H leader of Dullam Willing Workers for many years, was a room mother for all of us, and president of PTA for a time. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Ed) O'Brien, Linda Wire, LaVonne (Richard J.) Catron, Nancy Huber, Diane Feldman, and Lili Floyd; son, Ken (Kimberly) Wire; twelve grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lisle; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Hazel Wesson, Don and Ruth Wesson, Harris and Edna Wesson; and sister and brother-in-law, Neva and Charles Colver. Special thanks to all the Fairhaven staff, especially Chemere, Northern Illinois Hospice, care manager, Robin Berkheimer, and special friend, Faith for their kindness and compassion in caring for Marjorie.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a,m. Saturday, May 28, at Belvidere Funeral Home Inc., 203 Logan Avenue, Belvidere, Illinois, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Memorials may be given in her name to Fairhaven Retirement Center, 3470 N. Dear Wire Family,
So many memories of us Capron farm families growing up and being nurtured , guided and encouraged by those anchors in our families, our moms!! Your mom was such a servant in many ways. To all my cousins and their families...as hard as it is to say good bye to ones mother and grandmother..and for me my Aunt...she lives on in our hearts and minds where we store all the great memories of her. All those Wesson get togethers at the farm...holiday celebrations...good times...so now that generation is gone and we step up to take their place...Aunt Marj was a sweetheart....Connie and I send our prayers and thoughts your way.
