Michael James Richards, 53 SCHAUMBURG - Michael James Richards, 53, of Schaumburg died suddenly Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, in his home. Born Aug. 2, 1957, in Waterloo, Iowa, the eldest son of James and Joan (Tubandt) Richards. Attended schools in Sterling and Rockford and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1975 and Northern Illinois University in 1980. He recently was employed at Sears in Woodfield. Mike was a starter at track and cross-country events at Belvidere for many years and was an avid fan. He loved reading and politics. Survived by father, James of Rockford; sister, Pat (Tom) Morgensen of Lake Zurich; brother, Jeff of Schaumburg; favorite niece, Kelly Morgensen; and 95-year-old grandmother, Mildred Tubandt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and many aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his mother, Joan. Memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church's chapel, 221 N. Main St., Belvidere, with a memorial visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. The Rev. Dr. Robert Kopp, pastor, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart Association.
