Michelle Math Obituary

MICHELLE LEIGH HAWKINS MATH, 47 WYLIE, TX - Michelle Leigh Hawkins Math, 47, of Wylie, Texas passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, as a result of a raft accident in Clear Creek, Colorado. Michelle was born September 27, 1967, in Urbana, Illinois, a daughter of Robert Leo and Jane (Wilhelmus) Hawkins. Michelle lived most of her life in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated from Boylan Catholic High School. She attended U.A.B. and graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale after which she worked in interior design in Highland Park and Rockford, Illinois. She worked in accounts receivable for a small company in Rockford before moving to Wylie, Texas. Most recently she worked at VERVEBA Telecom in Richardson, Texas in their accounts receivable/payable department. Michelle enjoyed that job and spoke highly of all the people she worked with. After moving to Wylie, Texas she began the most wonderful and rewarding role she ever had - being a mom. She adored her three children and was very active in their schools and activities. She was proud of everything they achieved and encouraged them to be fair and kind. Michelle was their mom, their rock, and their best friend. She was active in PTA, Wylie recreational soccer and team manager of TFC club soccer and Sting North club soccer. Coach Wes Larry and all the soccer parents have been her family away from home. Michelle enjoyed helping the teams and the families appreciated her dedication. Michelle absolutely loved having fun with friends and family. You could count on her to be a helpful listener or she could make you laugh by being silly. If you ever saw her smile or heard her laugh, it was not long before you found yourself doing the same. She always looked forward to the annual Hawkins family reunions and tried to keep in touch with all of the cousins. Michelle is preceded in death by her father, maternal, and paternal grandparents. She will be missed beyond measure by her children, Alyssa Jane Math, Lillie Margaret Math, and Garrett Leo Math. She is survived by her mother, Jane Hawkins-Hoff and stepfather, Duey Hoff of Rockford, IL; her brother, Stephen Hawkins and his fiancée, Melissa Payne of Rockford, IL; her sister, Kenna Hawkins Beard and her husband, Bryan Beard of Madison, WI; and one nephew, Anders Hawkins Beard of Madison, WI. Also surviving are her step brothers, Adam Hoff and his son, Adam Hoff Jr., as well as Eric Hoff, his wife, Ami Hoff, and their son, Aidan. The father of her children, Henry (Sheri) Math of Lees Summit, MO survives. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members also survived. A funeral service was held Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Ted Dickey Funeral Home in Plano, Texas. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Rockford. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday at the church. Cremains will be placed to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Valley College Foundation or to Michelle Math Memorial Fund at GoFundMe.com. An online memorial with photos is available at www.teddickeyfuneral.com.
