Philip Zumwalt Obituary

PHILIP DEAN ZUMWALT, 57 ROCKTON - Philip Dean Zumwalt, 57, of Rockton, Illinois, died at 12:55 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born April 12, 1957, in Peru, Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne S. and Twila N. (Ewers) Zumwalt. He graduated from Hononegah High School, Class of 1975. Philip was employed as a HVAC Specialist by Fleming Heating and Cooling for 13 years. He was an avid pool player, playing in various leagues; avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Survivors include son, Trevor Zumwalt of Rockford, Illinois; brother, Steve Zumwalt of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Cheryl (Gary) Gau of Howard Lake, Minnesota and several cousins. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014, at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial will be in Crescent Heights Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Illinois. Memorials may be given to the National Kidney Foundation, 215 West Illinois Street Apartment 1C, Chicago, IL 60654.
