Robert Brewer Obituary
Robert Dewayne "Base" Brewer, of Rockford departed this earthly life April 25, 2021. He was born March 27, 1971 in Rockford, IL the son of William L. Sr., and Zeola Brewer. Robert was employed in Distribution by the Rockford Board of Education 32 years. He was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Jefferson High School class of 1989.
Robert leaves to cherish many fun loving memories, father, William L. Brewer Sr; three sisters, Shirley A. Brewer, Evelyn (Willie) Lewis and Lavoria Lee Hare; three brothers, William Jr (Martha) Brewer., Paul (Peggy) Brewer and Donald Brewer; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, brother, Johnny Brewer; and sister Sharon "Naynay" Brewer.
Moving visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until 11:00a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Private family services will be held at 12:00 noon. Which may be viewed via Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Facebook page.

Robert was my baby brother, I have so many memories of him whenever I look at his many pictures that I hold dear to my heart. When I moved away, he said Sis, you going to leave me...I told him yes, and he came to visit us in Mississippi in the year 2019. He loved it so much, and he wanted his Brother-in-law to find him a house, because he told us he will be back...But, GOD had other plans for this Big Teddy Bear. Love you Base, and I will miss your smile, your big heart, and all the memories I have of us growing up as kids. This one, I was not ready for, but I am at peace now that I know you are up there with our mother. No more pain...no more suffering. God wanted you more.
