ROBERT L. NEIBER, 50 BELVIDERE - Robert L. Neiber, 50, of Belvidere, died peacefully October 4, 2015, after a 5 year hard fought battle with lung cancer, with his family by his side. Rob was born in Rockford on June 30, 1965; the son of Bob and Barb Neiber. He married Lori Gulsrud on June 11, 1994, in Richland Center, WI. Rob was a Union Sheet Metal Worker for Local 219. He worked for LM Sheet Metal and later Mechanical Inc., before retiring in 2010. Rob had many blessings in his life, none greater than being a father. He spent numerous years coaching his daughters' softball teams, enjoyed boating, waterskiing, and spending quality time at Lake Redstone. Rob is survived by his wife, Lori; his daughters, Jordan, Bailey, Casey; son, Jake; his father, Bob; sister, Cathy (Chris) Hamm; father and mother-in-law, LaVerne and Karel Gulsrud; brother-in-law, Kerry (Kelly) Gulsrud; nephews and niece, uncles and aunts, cousins, and many special friends including his softball and Lake Redstone families. Rob's family would like to thank Dr. William C. Schulz and the entire staff at Swedish American Regional Cancer Center for their compassionate care. The family would also like to thank the staff with Northern Illinois Hospice for their wonderful care and support. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015, at Fitzgerald's Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108.
