Ruth was first my fifth grade teacher who then became a friend to myself and my family. I remember feeling so intimidated by her initially in class, and then growing to love her and learn so much from her and have so much fun with her! I feel fortunate to have known her as a teacher and a friend. Blessings to her family and friends as they mourn her passing.

Ruth was a true friend to me and my family. One of my mother's closest friends and always someone I enjoyed talking to and sharing time with. I'll never forget her laugh or the good spirit she showed and shared, and her drive for community service and education. She had a positive impact on thousands of students and members of the community and touched the hearts of many. She will be missed, but always remembered. God Bless. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

I was so suprised by Ruth's passing. I was lucky enough to see her as an adult at Kobra Hall's baby shower. She still remembered me and my sister and details of when we were her students. She taught me lessons at an early age that have taken me through life. Thank you, Ms. Pennycook. My prayers are with your family at this time.

It's truely sad news to hear of Ruth's passing! I have known her for many years thru the American Business Women's Association. We belonged to different local chapters, but worked together for the common good of local working women on many projects. She will be missed! God Bless the rest of her family!!!!

My deepest sympathy to Ruth's family. The three Sontag children attended Kinnikinnick and I was a subtitute teacher there. She also stayed with the children when my husband and I traveled. They loved having her.

What a loss for the Roscoe/Rockton area. Miss Pennycook was my 5th grade teacher over 30 years ago!
