Sheila Lightcap Obituary

SHEILA J. LIGHTCAP, 47 ROCKFORD - Sheila J. Lightcap, 47, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, in Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago after a brief illness. Born April 22, 1960, the daughter of Robert and Wanda Strowiak Blackwell. Sheila was a graduate of Jefferson High School. Married Matthew Lightcap in Rockford on May 12, 1990. Sheila worked at the Board of Realtors for many years before recently working for Eddie Z's. She loved shoes, cooking and entertaining friends and family. Survivors include her husband, Matthew; brother, Roger Blackwell; niece, Margaux Blackwell; mother-in-law, Shirley Lightcap; brother-in-law, Jeff (Jane) Lightcap; sister-in-law, Martha (Tom Lane) Lightcap; and many friends. We will miss her more than words can say. Predeceased by her parents; and brother, Tom. Memorial service at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., with the Rev. Dr. Denver Bitner of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Private burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation from 2 p.m. until time of service Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established at a later date. Arrangements made by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory. Matt: I was so shocked and sorry to hear about Sheila. She was a great gal and I enjoyed working with her years ago when she was at the Board. She will be dearly missed. I cannot make it to the visitation, but I wanted to send you my condolences.
