Thomas Diehl Obituary

Thomas Charles Diehl 1949—2017
Thomas Charles Diehl, 67, father, son and casual genius. Thomas was born October 3, 1949, in Rockford, IL to Charles Lynn Diehl and Mildred Mae Anderson. He departed the physical world May 7, 2017, in the same location. He will be deeply missed by his four children and everyone who met him and was touched by his wit and humor. He is survived by his children, Courtenay (Ben) of New York, Clayton of Minnesota, TJ and Michael of Illinois; brothers, Val (Cindy) of Illinois, Dennis (Honey) of California; and sister, Melanie (Charles) of Arizona. He graduated Rockford East High, Class of 1967, and earned an AA from Rock Valley College in 1969, and a BA from Rockford College in 1971. He enjoyed various jobs including a mental health specialist for the state of Illinois, master electrician, construction worker, Universal Life Church Minister and his favorite job was at Mitsubishi Motors from 1998-2007. He strived to work as little as possible and make as much money as possible to "stick it to the man". His hobbies included gardening, traveling, learning/sharing information and of course women! Especially redheads.
We would like to collect any stories of remembrance from friends and family for his Celebration of Life that will take place later this summer in New York. Please email any stories, and any requests for an invitation to the celebration, to his daughter at [email protected]
