VIVIAN C. GIFFORD, 88 ROCKFORD - Vivian C. Gifford, 88, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2015, in The Atrium. Born June 3, 1926, in Gary, IN, daughter of Horace and Myrtle Owens. Graduated from East High School in 1944. Married Robert Weaver in 1945. He predeceased her in 1965. Married Harold "Curly" Gifford in 1966. Formerly employed by Essex Wire for many years. She was a faithful servant of Grace United Methodist Church and was a former Sunday School Superintendent. Survivors include husband, Harold of Machesney Park; daughters, Marcia (Mike) Woods of Cypress, TX, and Wendy (Bill) Scott of Davis, IL; grandchildren, Robert, Louie, Jenny, Julie, Jeanine; several great-grandchildren; sister, Merrivale Herbert of Rockford; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Stan Gifford of Rockford. Predeceased by her son, Mike Weaver; her brothers and sisters. Visitation 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2015, in Grace United Methodist Church, 3555 McFarland Road, Rockford, with service beginning at 11 a.m., with Rev. Pam Rossmiller officiating.
