Vivian Olson Obituary
Vivian V.J. Schelin Olson, 96, of Rockton, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in SwedishAmerican Hospital. She was born July 26, 1919, in Rockford, IL; the daughter of Oscar and Ida (Bergander) Schelin. Vivian was a 1938 graduate of Rockford High School. She married Ralph A. Olson Jr. on Oct. 29, 1939, in Dubuque, IA; he predeceased her July 3, 1983. Vivian was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia J. Juffernbruch; son, Bradley (Cindy) Olson, both of Rockford; grandchildren, Mark and Peter Juffernbruch and Matthew and Tracy Olson; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Lillian Juffernbruch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son-in-law, Frederick Juffernbruch; 3 brothers, William, Arthur and Bentil "Lefty"; sisters, Ethel, Elvera, Violet and Gunhild.
Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford, with Pastor Megan Vaughn officiating. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the chapel. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. 1st St., Rockford, IL 61107 or Salvation Army, Rockford Temple Corps, 500 South Rockford Ave., Rockford, IL 61104.
