A caring and peaceful man is how I remember Wayne. He always shared something from his early life with us whenever we were together. He loved nature and was most comfortable when he was in his woods, near his cabin. Wayne's family was blessed to have him around. His children are a testament to the values instilled by this wonderful gentleman.

I met Mr. Williams several years ago on one of our many trips with our grandchildren to the tree farm. Although my trips to the Gunflint were a bit later than his, we still were able to share some of the treasures of our ealy visits to the Gunflint, Echo and Caribou Trails. A wonderful man who helped me recall the happier days of my youth. Thanks, Wayne.

The Clarence Haas family wish to extend our sympathies. Clarence always looked forward to sharing some hot chocolate and conversation with Wayne every year when he went to purchase a grave blanket.

"Grandpa" Williams was born on Christmas Eve and died one week before his 87th birthday. He was unique and truly loved life, nature, and children. Our family will miss him and this Christmas will be bitter-sweet. We know he's in a better place and are grateful for the time we had with him. He and Ora Mae raised three children who share his belief in giving back to others. Thank you for being a part of his life and ours.

I always considered Wayne Williams my "Grandpa"... He told me great stories, how to make hard work fun, and made me feel as if I was one of his own. He definitely took part of making me the man that I am today and he will never be foregotten.
