Barbara Moran Obituary

PITTSFORD - Barbara A. Moran, 72, of Pittsford, died Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Our House Outback Residential Care Home in Rutland.
She was born October 9, 1943, the daughter of James Ashley and Rena (MacKenzie) Ashley. She was raised in Proctor by her mother and stepfather, Lawrence Doty. She graduated from Proctor High School in 1961. In 1965, Barbara married Ronald D. Moran. The couple lived in Pittsford, where they raised their family. Barbara worked at the Law Office of Ryan Smith & Carbine, WHWB/WSYB and Rutland Regional Medical Center. Barbara enjoyed time spent at home with family and friends. She adored her grandchildren and always treasured their visits and her time with them. Barbara is survived by her three children, Traci Moore and her husband, Scott, of Rutland; Tammi Blanchard and her husband, Jay, of Pittsford, and Timothy Moran of Rutland; four brothers Larry "Bud" Doty of Schenectady, NY; Clayton Doty and his wife, Peggy, of Venice, FL; Tom Doty and his wife, Linda, of Proctor; and Ronald Doty-Tolaro and his spouse, Michael, of Bellows Falls; four sisters Patricia McCarthy and her husband, Joe, of Hydeville, Donna Bunker of North Carolina, Nancy Doty of Rutland and Cherie Loso and her husband, Mark, of West Rutland; five grandchildren Ryan Moore, Kathryn Moore, Lauryl Blanchard, Bryn Blanchard and Timothy Moran Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband and parents, as well as a brother, Larry Ashley, and a sister, Janice Ashley.
Barbara's family would like to thank the Patorti family and Our House staff for their compassionate care and support throughout her illness, as well as the staff and volunteers of the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice for hospice services and support during the past few weeks.
Special thanks to longtime friend, Jeanene Hughes of Proctor, for her ongoing support and friendship.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church in Pittsford, with a private burial service for family to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 7 Albert Cree Drive, Rutland, VT 05701.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Barnard Funeral Home in Pittsford.
