David Williams Obituary

FAIR HAVEN - David B. Chuck Nasty Williams, 74, of Fair Haven, died Tuesday evening, March 15, 2016, at his residence following a brief illness.
He was born on March 20, 1941, in Rutland, the son of Earl and Eva (Reed) Williams.
Mr. Williams attended the Fair Haven Schools.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War with the 3rd Infantry Division.
Mr. Williams married Karen King on August 2, 1963.
He was employed for several years as a bartender with the Fair Haven American Legion prior to becoming employed by the Belden Company for many years, retiring in 1996.
Mr. Williams was a member of the American Legion Post #50 in Castleton, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1653 in Granville, NY, and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #7 in Rutland. He was a former member of the Goldwing Riders Association and the VAST Snowmobile club.
Survivors include his wife Karen Williams of Fair Haven; a daughter Donna Bedard of Pittsford; a son Bruce Williams of Fair Haven; a sister Joan Gagnon of Poultney; 6 grandchildren Amy, Brian, Celina, Evan, Luke and Isaiah; 3 great-grandchildren Collin, Tanner and Nolan, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main Street, Fair Haven, VT.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the Funeral Home.
A reception and celebration of his 75th birthday will follow at the Castleton American Legion Hall. Private burial will be at a later date in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to VAMC - attn: volunteer services, 215 North Main St., WRJ, VT 05009 (include "memory of" on check); or to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, P.O. Box 787, Rutland, VT 05701.
