C. Wright Obituary

SHELBYVILLE - C. Ruth Wright, 84, of Shelbyville, passed away at 11:52 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009 in her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, in the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville with Rev. Robert Turner officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with Order of the Eastern Star Services at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene of Shelbyville or the American Cancer Society. She was born Chelsea Ruth Goben on June 12, 1925 in Buffalo, Illinois, the daughter of James Edward and Cora Marie Jackson Goben. She married William E. (Bud Nees) Wright, August 26, 1944 in the Moulton Methodist Church by the Reverend Blankenship in Shelbyville, Illinois. Bud preceded her in death on October 26, 1977. Ruth was Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary and a 53 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Shelbyville Chapter #69. She enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren and gardening. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Edwards and Gail Depew both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Shaine (Renee) Wright of Ramsey, Tonya Reynolds of Waukesha, WI, Brad (Veronica) Depew of Cowden, Annie Depew (James) Russell of Herrick, Jennifer (Jim) Lewis of Shelbyville, Curt Edwards and friend, KeKeli Mensah of Mattoon, Shonnie (Jerame) Arthur and Clark Wright all of Shelbyville; great grandchildren, Timothy (Kim) Wright of Ramsey, Cheyenne Depew of Shelbyville, Shenandoah Depew of Cowden, Blaze and Trysten Russell of Herrick, Joselyn and Amber Lewis of Shelbyville, Jackson Arthur of Shelbyville; step-great grandchildren, Leila and Jersee Hess, Samantha Willms of Ramsey, Brian Moore of Cowden, and James and Cole Russell of Ardmore, OK; great great grandchild, Trinity Wright of Charleston; step-great great grandchildren, Fayth and Jace Sulwer of Shelbyville; and two sisters, Barbara (Joe) Cresswell of Shelbyville and Samantha Faye Rockhold of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William E. "Bud" Wright; two sons, Charlie and Donnie Wright; one daughter, Dianne; two sisters, Mary Herman and Margaret Simmons; and two brothers, Ralph and Ray Goben. Obituary written by family members.
