A dear friend to our community and businesses of Fair Haven has been lost. Gordy supported all who crossed his path. His recent support through the Chamber, Eagles and Legion of the fledgling Slate Valley Teen Center Project, showed how much he believed in the youth of our town. We will miss him and always remember his wonderful sense of humor. Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends at this time.

Our condolences to Gordons family, staff and friends. His Vermont wit, work ethic, common sense, and if he didn't have the part for the old machine, he could find one. A very deep loss to the business and local communites. We will miss him, but always remember.

Fair Haven has lost a treasure. Gordy was the "go to man" for advise and help. He was instrumental in helping us start the Spring Fling and the Apple Festival. He was a member and leader of the Chamber, the Legion and the Eagles and more. But he would help even if he was not a member of a organization. He was my electrical consultant for the Festival of Trees. I considered him a friend. I shall miss him forever.

Gordy's passing is a tremendous loss for the area. He was a hard working business owner whose friendly smile and quiet confidence eased the minds of anxious customers fighting balky boilers, fuming furnaces, frozen pipes and flooded basements. His prices were fair and he helped many, many people whom he knew were having a tough time financially by doing the work and allowing them to pay over time. Gordy epitomized the term "socially responsible business" before it was coined. He used his money to help others. Separate from the business, he worked tirelessly and quietly to promote the town, to organize community building events and champion the region. He did this all quietly and shunned the limelight. Gordy was a gift in the lives of so many people in the region - a reliable, honest, hard working friend to anyone in need. We have lost a talnted, kind and generous man with a big heart who gave freely of his time and skills. Gordy was a gift in my life. I am forever grateful to have known him. My condolences to his family and to his many, many friends.
