WOODSTOCK - James E. Paglia, 63, died Aug. 17, 2008, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He was born Aug. 16, 1945, in Hanover, N.H., the son of Elio A. and Dorothy (Hathorn) Paglia.
He graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 1964.
Mr. Paglia married Evelyn Payson on Jan. 3, 1970.
He worked on the family farm until 1985, spent two years working for P&C in White River Junction and in 1987 he went to work at Hanover Inn as a security guard.
He enjoyed helping his son farm in Barton. He was an avid sports fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Golden State Warriors.
Survivors include his wife of Woodstock; a daughter, Nancy Mckner of Springfield; a son, James Paglia Jr. of Newport; two brothers, Bruce Paglia of Bridgewater and Jerold Paglia of Nashua, N.H.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Paglia was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard Paglia.
The graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, in Riverside Cemetery in Woodstock.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 1 Kennedy Drive, Suite L8, South Burlington, VT 05603.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
