Jared Washburn Obituary
He was born in Rutland, Vermont on March 15, 1970, to Pamela Ann (Shmerder) Washburn and George Franklin (Jeff) Washburn, III. He attended Rutland schools and Wellspring of Life Bible College.
He loved his job at Alderman's Chevrolet, where he was Salesman of the Year for the last two years. He deeply cared for the people he worked with, and his customers, many of whom became very special friends.
Jared is survived by the love of his life, Tricia Craw-Washburn, as he was truly the love of hers; their two beautiful sons, Jared Mark Washburn, Jr., and Patrick Jared Washburn; his sister, Leigh Paige Truhan, her husband Ben Scott Truhan of Rutland, and his precious new baby niece, Hannah Scarlette Truhan; his father, George Franklin "Jeff" Washburn, III of N.H.; his mother and father in law, Justine and Terry Craw; his best friends, Drs. Thomas and Peggy Ann Kiley of Oklahoma and three rescue pugs, Bandit, Hannah, and Rocky, whom he loved and cared for faithfully because his wife couldn't stop bringing them home.
He was predeceased by his beautiful mother, Pamela Schmerder Washburn. Included in the long list of people he loved were many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and his staff family at Alderman's Chevrolet.
Jared had two loves in his life. The first was the Lord Jesus Christ, who saved him from himself, and the second was his family. He needed little else to be content. His greatest joy was buying surprises for his sons, which was exactly what he was doing when he passed into the Arms of Jesus. He left the most wonderful memories for his wife and sons, and was truly the greatest role model as a husband and as a father. He was a gift from God, a man who brought joy and laughter to every situation.
Jared's great passion was preaching and sharing the Gospel, especially to those within the prison system. As a member of Wellspring of Life Christian Center, he ministered weekly for years in the Marble Valley Correctional Facility here in Vermont, diligently endeavouring to impart the miracle of Jesus to all that heard him.
A celebration of Jared's life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Hillside Rd., Rutland, Vt. 05701.
A reception will follow in the church hall.
Friends may call at the Clifford Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tricia Craw Washburn, for the future of Jared's sons, Jared Mark Washburn, Jr., and Patrick Jared Washburn, c/o Justine Craw, 186 Fox Glen Drive, Naples, Florida, 34104.

Jared was a great person and friend. I first came to know him through the place of worship that he attended. His love for life and his Lord always shined through in his actions as a Christian.
I know that he's up in heaven now and waiting for the rest of us that are worthy to join him in heaven.
Jared old friend I will always remember the times that we shared and the fun that we had.

We were shocked to hear of Jared's passing and extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. I lived only two houses down from Jared and his family while growing up. We were in the same class throughout elementary school, and both me and my wife attended junior high and high school with him. It's hard to fathom that such a unique soul is gone so soon.

Jared was the one person that we could all count on. His compassion and understanding was limitless. I enjoyed many conversations about not giving up on finding my true love because he felt so blessed and honored to have found his beautiful wife. I was so shocked and sad to hear of Jared's passing. I remember him so well when he would come in to Price Chopper where I worked for years. As I recall he was a big fan of the Red Sox and would love to boast of their accomplishments, he was always fun.

Tricia I don't know you but we have known Jared since he was very young. I wrote to him when he was away.Skip and I saw him everyday at Alderman's always with a smile and a mission. He loved you all dearly and was so proud of his pictures on his desk.I just want you to also know in high school when my son was being bullied everyday Jared stood up to the bully for him and it stopped.
