Jonathan Rayborn Obituary

Jonathan L. "George" Rayborn, 34, of Rutland, died on April 26, 2017, at his home in Rutland, VT.
He was born on July 5, 1982, in Rutland, VT, the son of Pamela A. Davis and Jonathan Rayborn. He was raised and fathered on the family farm by his Grandfather/Pop - Ramon E. Davis Sr. (Harry) and his Grandmother/Ma Ruth A. Davis (Webster) whom he respected and loved dearly.
Jon worked for Todd Blanchard & Sons as a carpenter for the past 20-plus years, he was an impeccable carpenter and wouldn't accept anything less than perfection. He recently built the bridge that sits in front of the Maple Museum in Pittsford, VT, that he was very proud of. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing with his son, Nicholas G. Rayborn, and brother, Jeffrey L. Smith Jr.
Jon was a very kind and loving man who would give to others and go without, himself, just to help someone out. He was raised with values, respect and honesty and he showed signs of being a gentleman at the young age of 5, holding doors for older women and men, which he continued to do until late. He treated everyone with respect and never talked ill of anyone, he truly was raised with great morals. His heart belonged to his children.
Jon leaves behind his sons, Keaton R. Rayborn and Nicholas G. Rayborn; Grandfather/Pop-Ramon E. Davis; Grandmother Cheryl Parker; Mother Pamela A . Davis; his brother, Jeffrey L. Smith; Aunts Mona Davis, Andrea Davis, Jen Davis and Jo-Anne Davis; several other aunts and uncles; and hundreds of cousins.
Jon was predeceased by his Grandmother/Ma Ruth A. Davis; his uncle, Ramon E. Davis Jr.; and his biological father, Jonathan L. Rayborn.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the Barnard Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 7-9 p.m.
