Mark Merriam Obituary

Mark Adams Merriam, 62, died February 17, 2015, at his home.

He was born in Burlington, October 20, 1952, son of Dr. Philip G. and Bettina (Terrill) Merriam.

Mark was a 1972 graduate of Rutland High School. He attended Daniel Webster Junior College in Nashua, NH, and New England School of Broadcasting in Boston, MA.

Mark retired from the Rutland Regional Medical Center after 27 years in the Environmental Services Department.

Mark's interests included architecture, history, bicycling and a life-long devotion to recycling and repurposing discarded office equipment and supplies.

Surviving are two brothers, J.Q. Scott Adams and wife Betty Spooner of Rutland Town and Robert F. Merriam, wife Joan Archer and daughter Kelsey of Wellesley, MA; two sisters, Susan F. Merriam, husband, Wayne Howe, and son, Emerson, of Jericho, and Barbara M. Renaud, husband, Euclide, and sons John and Tom of Deerfield Beach, FL.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford VT, 05763.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.

I also saw Mark for many years while working at RRMC. He was always polite, did his work in an exemplary manner. There are many of us that will miss him. God Bless you Mark.

FOR THE 30 YEARS OR SO I WORKED WITH WITH MARK I SAW HIM ALWAYS DO FOR OTHERS AND NEVER ASKED FOR ANYTHING IN RETURN.I WILL MISS THIS SINCERE QUIET GUY AS I'M SURE HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL TOO. I TRUELY WISH HE IS NOW IN A BETTER PLACE. TED WENTA
