I served in Vietnam with Mike. We flew to get her and supported each other. We became brothers over there. He was a great solder and definitely a true warrior. After the war, we saw each other at 11th Armored Calvary Regiment reunions each year.
One day in Vietnam while while flying, a NVA bullet hit the bottom of my seat but was stopped by a piece of kevlar that I was sitting on. After landing, Mike came over to my Helicopter. Together we looked all through the helicopter by removing panels. Mike kept on looking after I gave up. And then he found the bullet. He proudly tried to give it to me, but because he worked so hard to find it, I told him he could keep it. So he did. And he drilled a hole through the bullet and laced a combat boot lace through it. From then on, he wore it around his neck. He was wearing it when he got shot about a month later. I loved you Brother Mike. Thank you for your service. I wish someday to meet your family. I

Mike and I served together in Vietnam. He actually saved my life when I was shot. WE helped him move from MA to VT. We were always closely in touch till he got real sick. I shall never forget his smile and Bravery. I will miss him dearly. Francis X. Gowrie Jr. New York. I did attend the Mass and Burial. He is at peace now and never forgotten

To the Gorman/Champney Family,
My condolences on the loss of Michael. We had just begun a dialog on the Champney family. My name is Paula Cole and I am the granddaughter of Harriet Tudor and the great granddaughter of Clara Champney Hurley. I believe Clara delivered Lee and Lark and also named them. My grandmother spoke frequently of Michael and his mother and grandmother. Michael had spent an enormous amount of time researching the Champney family. If someone in the Gorman/Champney family is continuing his work I would love to hear from them.
Again condolences you have lost a wonderful asset. There is so much about Michael I would love to have known.

Dear Kate and family,
We're sorry you had to lose your brother, but we are encouraged that he found peace towards the end of his life, and so thankful for his service to our country. We will definitely look for the book in which his story is told and share it with others. It was also very interesting to know the family history.
God bless you and comfort you and your family . Love, Leslie and Norm Cronin

My love to you and your family. May we all remember the price of freedom is not free. Dear God, your solder has come home to rest. His battle has been long. May he rest in peace.

Jimmy,Kathy and Kim,
Words alone cannot express my sorrow with the passing of Micheal. He was one of my dearest friends and many a night I spent crouched next to the wheel chair listening to the words of encouragement from my wounded hero. His service to his country exemplified the qualities of a true patriot and a wonderful, kind and loving young man. I will cherish his memory forever in my heart ! The world is a better place because of Micheal Gorman !!!
