Nicholas Ezzo Obituary

Nicholas D. Ezzo, 73, of Rutland, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Indiana University Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

He was born in Rutland, April 14, 1937, the son of Samuel and Emma (DellVeneri) Ezzo.

Nick was a graduate of Rutland High School class of 1955, and he attended Castleton State College.

He was a U. S. Navy veteran.

Mr. Ezzo was co-owner of Ezzo's Auto Body Shop on River Street for many years, retiring in April 2007.

He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, the American Legion Post #31 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Club.

He enjoyed woodcarving, ice fishing and hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Hannelore (Schuetzinger) Goetz Ezzo of Rutland; four daughters, Deborah Rodd and her husband Bruce of Wells, Vermont, Linda Salah and her husband Craig of Newburyport, MA, Nancy O'Brien and her husband Michael of Wells, Maine, and Nicole Babcock and her husband, Randy of Poultney; two brothers, Samuel Ezzo and his wife Sandy of West Haven, and Anthony Ezzo and his wife Mary Ann of Rutland; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and by his first wife of 28 years, Carolyn Anne (Ianni) Ezzo in 1990.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rutland. Officiating will be Rev. Regmigius Ntahondi, pastor.

A reception will follow.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.
