Sue Roberts Obituary

Sue Ann (Parker) Roberts, 66, of Rutland, died Jan. 9, 2018, at her home, after a long illness.
She was born March 17, 1951, in Whitehall, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond Floyd and Marion June (Aubin) Parker.
She was the wife of Lowell E. Roberts.
Mrs. Roberts graduated from Community College of Vermont and the College of St. Joseph, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Mrs. Roberts moved to Rutland in 1973 and resided on Nickwackett Street for the remainder of her life. She was a homemaker. She was an active, lifelong member of the Rutland First Baptist Church, taught Sunday school, and was superintendent of the Sunday school for many years. She also served as treasurer of the Women's Organization and numerous committees.
Her volunteering endeavors included Bike-A-Thons for St. Jude Children's Hospital and mentoring at Rutland Mental Health. She enjoyed substitute teaching at Wells Village School in Wells, VT, in 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell E. Roberts, of Rutland; a son, Jason L. Roberts, of Rutland; three sisters Rosemary (Parker) Marr, of Whitehall, NY, Patricia (Parker) Neddo, of Clemons, NY, and Lisa (Parker) Smith, of Southport, NC; a brother, Michael Parker, of Glens Falls, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Linda Rozelle; and two brothers Thomas Parker and Gary Parker.
Mrs. Roberts had a kind heart to all who knew her and a very gentle and strong spirit.
Visitation will be in Tossing Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, from 1-2:30 p.m., followed by a remembrance funeral service at 2:30. The Rev. Andrew Carlson, hospice chaplain, will officiate.
Entombment and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rutland First Baptist Church, 81 Center St., Rutland, VT 05701; or St. Jude's Hospital, P.O. Box 2151, Memphis, TN 38101.
Arrangements are by Tossing Funeral Home.

Lowell and Jason I am so sorry for your loss. Sue was a wonderful person it was a great pleasure to get to know her. So today I went out and bought a bag of Cheetos and a can of Pepsi in memory of her. I know she's up in heaven looking down saying wow Dianes having a Pepsi.. Rest in peace Sue.
