Terry Bixler Obituary

BENNINGTON - Terry Parker Bixler, 63, of Bennington, died Jan. 27, 2015.

She was born Dec. 3, 1951, in Hanover, N.H., to Herbert and Violene (Woods) Parker.

She grew up in Bridgewater Corners and attended Woodstock Union High School. She graduated from Castleton State College with a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in education in 1974. She was the Homecoming Queen at CSC for two consecutive years.

She married Bruce Bixler in June 1976.

Mrs. Bixler taught English at Granville High School in New York for more than 20 years.

She enjoyed creating art, playing cards, Trivial Pursuit, Stephen King novels and rock 'n' roll.

Mrs. Bixler is survived by her children, Brooke and Tyler Bixler; her sister, Tamara Parker McGonagle; a grandchild, uncle, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Naomi Geno, and her mother.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Just learned of Terry's passing today, and it made me sad. She was one of my favorite teachers at GCS, who always had a quick wit that made me smile. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all..My Mom and Terry's Mom were lifetime friends so the 3 girls were like family to us. I also in my high school years babysat Terry and Tammy. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Happy journey!!
