William Tabor Obituary

SHREWSBURY - William Tabor, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock hospital on March, 9, 2018, after a brief illness.
He was born in Shrewsbury on Aug. 10, 1928, the son of Ralph and Margaret (Wortman) Tabor.
Bill was an avid outdoors man, he loved hunting camp with his two sons, plowing his driveway with his tractor. He loved going to ox pulls with his wife and two grandsons Jordan and Zach. He was a member of the ox teamsters for many years.
Bill also enjoyed going to fairs and ox teamster luncheons with Phyllis. He also was a member of the Otter Ski Patrol at Pico for many years. He retired from General Electric Co. after 32 years.
He is survived by his five children Melody Slater, of Florida, Margo Tabor, of Shrewsbury, Dane (Alice) Tabor, of Proctor, Lance (Terri) Tabor, of Cuttingsville, Heidi (Steve) Kapusta, of Clarendon; and two sisters Jane (Fred) Taylor, of Rutland, and Rosemary Poczobut, of Proctor. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis, and daughter Theresa in 2013.
Funeral services will be held at a later date in the spring.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland.

so sorry for your loss , i knew him for over 30 plus years , at the ox pulls , Tun bridge fair will never be the same with out him . he was a dear friend of mine , and i learned a lot from him on oxen .
