Ada Scott Obituary

SCOTT, Ada Ann (Ceccarelli) Born 12/7/1950, Ada passed away peacefully on December 30, 2014 after a valiant fight with heart disease. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Mercy Hospital's Alex Spanos Center. They were very compassionate and caring in their efforts. Ada was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who sacrificed for others and donated her time charitably to various venues, including "The Casa Garden Restaurant." A lifetime Sacramento resident, Ada forged many lifelong friendships. She graduated from Bishop Manogue High School in 1969, and had a 35 year career at the State of California. Ada was kind and unpretentious. She had a smile that would brighten up a room and kept smiling until her last days. Ada was preceded in death by her parents John and Marcia Ceccarelli and her sister Susan Ceccarelli. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Michael, her daughter Gwen Scott and husband Dino Kambas, her son Geoffrey Scott and wife Rebecca and their twins Maverick and Miella, who were both very special to Ada. She cherished the 7 months she had with them. Ada is also survived by her brother Tom Ceccarelli, his wife Cathy, and nieces Elise and Lia Ceccarelli and nephew Marc Ceccarelli. Ada also leaves behind the Scott family, with whom she was very close, and many beloved friends. At the request of the family, a private memorial service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to "The Casa Garden Endowment."

I am so saddened to hear of Ada's passing. I worked with her many years ago at CDFA. She was so awesome in many ways. I think about her every Christmas as I still have a Christmas pheasant she made for me. Her beautiful smile will always be remembered. My condolences to her family. Rest in peace Ada Ann.

Ada was one of the people responsible for hiring me on with the State. Her smile was reassuring and she often greeted with me with a hug. Ada was one of the most professional, caring and compassionate people I've ever met. I will be forever grateful and am happy to have known her.

"Ada was kind and unpretentious." How true that was. I'm grateful for the cheesecakes she baked me, the card games when she knew I was cheating, the late nights at Pancake Parade, the gallons of coffee we drank. Those were innocent times, we all were so young. That was so long ago. Rest in peace, Ada.

I remember Ada's happy smile and love for her close family and friends; especially her two grand babies. I remember Ada helping out her son at Track 7 Brewery walking and talking so fast and always smiling at everyone. My best to her family and friends as we will all continue to keep Ada in our thoughts--so sorry Susan and Mike. She'll be missed at many a crab feeds . . . shows, dinners, etc.
