Alfonso MADRIL Obituary

MADRIL, Jr., Alfonso (Al)
Born October 31, 1949 in Riverside, CA, a resident of Cool, CA, until his passing on March 8, 2012. Al was taken prematurely and will forever remain in our memory. Beloved son of Lucille Madril of Santa Rosa, CA; brother to Rosemarie Lewis, Fairfield, CA; David Madril, Billings, MT; Gloria Garrett, Santa Rosa, CA; Judy Waldrum, Shady Cove, OR; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews residing throughout the world. A US Marine Corps veteran, he served in Vietnam, in 1968 and 1969. Al also served the citizens of the State of California as a California Highway Patrolman for 26 years retiring in 2005 out of Auburn, CA. He was a dedicated man and very proud of his service as a CHP Officer. Al was loyal to his friends, and members of his CHP family, many of whom were with him at the end. He was avid fan of the SF Giants and 49ers. Loved by many, Al will truly be missed. A memorial service will be held March 17, at 11:00 am, St Teresa of Avila Parish, at 11600 Atwood Road, Auburn, CA. A Mass will be held for him on Sunday March 18, at 10:00 am, at St. Teresa of Avila Parish. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital Hospice.

Al, it was a privilege being with you as part of the CHP CTC 1~80, and our first assignment to San Jose. Your service for our country and fine state are appreciated, as you were a great ambassador for the marines, and the finest law enforcement agency in the world.

I was deeply saddened to hear that Al had pased. It seems like just yesterday that he was a new recruit and I was telling him about how I went to school with his older brother and sisters. A young man with a bright future ahead of him. My deepest sympathy to Al's family I am sure he will be greatly missed. Gary Lofgren, retired CHP
