Alfred Astore Obituary

Fred Astore passed away peacefully on April 6, 2016, in Sacramento, CA. He was 86. Fred is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Marilyn, and loving daughters, Angela Misner (John), Maria (Lou) Patrone, and loving stepdaughter, Lisa (David) Brent. He was a devoted grandfather to Michael and Christopher Misner, Dominic Patrone and Eva, Julian and Alma Brent. Fred was born in Brooklyn, NY, to John and Mary Astore. He served in the United States Air Force; and while stationed at Mather Field, met his late wife, Angelina. Fred worked for James P. Keating Liquor Company and Southern Wine and Spirits. He was an avid golfer, and he also enjoyed singing and listening to music. Most of all, he treasured time with his family and friends. Fred has an incredible zest for life! The Funeral Mass will take place in the Slakey Chapel at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento, at 10am on Sat. April 16, 2016. The chapel is located to the right when you enter through the main gates. A reception will follow the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Franciscan Friars of California or The Alzheimer's Society of Northern California. Arrangements by W.F. Gormley & Sons.

To the Astore family I had the honor of working with Fred at J.P.Keating and S.W.S. I always looked up to Fred and a couple other long time Salesman to pattern my sales approach after him. He always gave good information on how to handle your accounts. I will miss Fred at our 'ROMEO' lunches. May the lord wrap you in his loving arms to give you comfort at this time of sorrow.

I am very saddened to hear of Fred's passing. I worked with him at J.P. Keating Co. in the 70's, my first job out of business college (which was a GREAT place to work!). He was always so kind and gracious, a perfect gentleman always with a smile on his face. I loved hearing his Brooklyn accent. Fred was a great guy and will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew him. My sincerest condolences to the Astore family. RIP, Fred.
