Amanda Marie Garcia

1992 - 2018

October 5, 2018 Amanda was born in Sacramento, California on December 21st, 1992. She spent most of her life in Atwater, California surrounded by loving family and friends. She attended Atwater High School while competing in cross-country and track as well as playing the flute and serving as Vice President of their high school band. Upon her high school graduation in 2011, she moved to Sacramento to pursue her Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition and her competitive running career at California State University, Sacramento. As a Division I collegiate athlete, Amanda was ranked among the top 10 athletes of all time in the 800 meters at Sacramento State. With her Bachelor's of Science and student-athlete experience she was offered a customer s ervice representative position at Merieux NutriSciences' corporate office in Chicago. After 2 short years in Chicago, she was promoted to an Account Management position back home in California around family and friends. She died shortly after on Friday October 5th, at age 25 from a rare and aggressive cancer. Amanda loved everyone and was loved by everyone. She touched so many people's lives with her warmth and positive vivacity. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to see her favorite bands live in concert, running, traveling and fashion. Amanda is survived by her mother Olga Garcia, her father Leobardo Garcia, her sister Brianna Garcia, life partner Daniel Mitchell and a very close set of family members including, Aunt and Uncle, Lydia and Bosco Ramirez, Aunt Arcelia Silva, numerous cousins and close friends. She will be missed by so many and remembered always by all. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 5:00pm 9pm at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater with the Rosary at 7pm. Mass will begin on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10am at St. Anthony's Church, followed by the burial at Winton Cemetery. www.IversandAlcorn.com
