Anthony FONTANA Obituary

FONTANA, Anthony Edward
(47) was taken from his family to be with our Lord on April 29, 2013 while surrounded by those who loved him after a short battle with cancer. Anthony was born September 14, 1966 in Marysville, CA. He was survived by the love of his life, Michelle Ehrgood of Sacramento, his son Thomas (Brooke) of Visalia, his mother Jennifer Sroufe of Napa, his sister Katherine Klein (Ken) of McArthur, nephews Kenny and Kyle Klein, his brother Curtis McDaniel (Kattie) of Escalon, his grandmother Betty Sweet of Napa, his mentor, uncle and friend Alex Sweet (Lori) of Napa, and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Vernon McDaniel. Anthony served his country proudly in the United States Army and enjoyed kayaking, hiking. He had a passion for cooking, which seemed to be evident in all the men in his life, and led him to attend Le Cordon Bleu Academy. Anthony's passing has left a hole in the lives of many that cannot be filled and he will be sorely missed by all. Memorial services will be held at the Napa Women's Club, 218 Franklin Street, Napa, CA on Friday May 17, 2013 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Queen of the Valley Hospital Cancer Center in his name. Condolences to the family may be left at claffeyandrota.com.

Tony, I miss you more than ever. Even though you were ten years older than me, you always dragged me along. From concerts as a 13 year old, to Kayaking the flooded field behind the Sac City Juco as a 30 year old. I remember climbing the fence and getting my leg skewered by the concertina wire. I was stuck on the fence while you pulled it out of my leg. It´s been a little over eleven years....I imagine you rough-housing with my two little ones. I love you Tony.

I'm so sad to hear that you are gone. I reached for the phone to call you and remind you of your "Edwin" days.! You've been thru a lot of good times and bad and I wish we had kept in touch. I know you must be surfing the web for the burning man info and hiking to your special spot. David ,Nancy, John, and Courtney will miss you.
