Not a day passes that I don't think of my sister/friend/mentor. What a wise and precious soul she was. May God bless each of you, her children and grands and great grands. Each of you were her world. May God continue to bless and keep you is my prayer!

Dear Roni, Vikki and Akiko,

My mom (Gwen Collins) and I just learned of Aquilla's passing. Oddly, Aquilla was heavy on my mom's mind back in February. Mom had lost her phone book and she was desparately trying to reach out to her. I posted a message on your Mom's LinkedIn site. We never heard back, which as you know was unheard of from your Mom. Aquilla was always respondant and caring. A true friend. My mom grew more and more distressed, so wh had me post yet another message on LinkedIn. THis time with no response she started tracking down mutal friends. We hear d yesterday from Carol Littleton. The old Columbia connections. Needless to say we are devastated. We are reaching out to her and you all in our prayers. I'm on LinkedIn. Donna Collins. I feel ashamed that we have let such a time and space elapse. Take good care, Donna

My Shero is in Heaven and I feel her in everything I do here. I miss her physically and I know her work here on earth is complete. So many people loved her and still are missing her. Momma, thank you for teaching me how to walk on this earth. I love you and wish we had one more day so I could just be with you.

What a shock I received today when I tried to call my friend and sister to wish her Happy Mother's Day and both phones were not in service. I remembered that she was sick the last time I spoke to her and then panicked when I realized I had none of her children's phone numbers. I was impressed to check the obituaries and hurt to find her there. Roni and Vida, I'm Diane whom she befriended and mentored when I lived in Sacramento. I had planned to visit her this summer. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Your mom was an angel whom I will deeply miss. I do regret I can't contact you. She loved each of you and her grands very much. May God grant you His peace! With love,

To the lady I knew as Aunt Aquilla, Bibi, and Mom I want you to know you truly were and will always be a blessing in my life. You knew me before I was born and you stayed in my life until God called you home. I am at peace knowing that you are no longer in pain and you have been reunited with those who went before you. Again, I love you and I will definitely see you again!
