Barbara Fenton Obituary

Barbara Alice Fenton

July 6, 1960 - December 14, 2024

Carmichael, California - Barbara Alice Fenton passed away on December 14th after a brave and determined battle with cancer, at the age of 64, far too young for someone with so much life left to live.

Barbara was a remarkable woman, artistic, creative, and incredibly hard-working. She dedicated her career to public service, starting as a Deputy Probation Officer in Sacramento County, contributing her expertise at the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), and later working as a consultant for Chief Probation Officers across California. She was widely respected for her knowledge, professionalism, and the guidance she provided throughout her career.

Barbara overcame many challenges in her life with strength and grace, emerging as a positive, bright light to everyone who knew her. Fun-loving and full of life, she was young at heart and always up for an adventure. She could still do handstands and cartwheels, a testament to her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

As a wife, she and Bill shared a beautiful partnership, traveling the world together but also cherishing their quiet moments at home. As a mom, she was the best, always there for her children, Amy and Anthony, offering unwavering support and unconditional love. As a Nana, she adored her grandchildren, Gavin, Taylor, and Kaleb, and they adored her in return. She was their biggest cheerleader, always making time for fun, laughter, and creating lasting memories.

Barbara accepted her cancer diagnosis with courage, meeting it with dignity and fighting with everything she had until her body couldn't anymore. Through it all, she remained a beacon of positivity and joy, uplifting those around her with her humor, warmth, and endless energy.

She is survived by her husband Bill, her daughter Amy and son-in-law Dan, her son Anthony, and her cherished grandchildren Gavin, Taylor, and Kaleb. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and the profound impact she had on everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

I was the Assistant Chief PO during Barbaras time at the Sacto. County Probation Dept.. She was a true asset to the Dept. . Always had a smile and a cheerful word in a sometimes gloomy business. So sorry for her passing. My wife is dealing with a stage four cancer so I am familiar with what a horrible disease it is and I am sure Barbara gave it a valiant fight. My condolences to the family at this difficult time.
