Bennie Godager Obituary

Bennie Ray Godager was born Oct. 27th 1930 in Iona South Dakota and passed away Sept. 16th 2025 in Rocklin, California at the age of 94. Ben passed peacefully with his daughter Christie by his side.

He was presided in death by his father Carl Godager, mother Mary Godager, brother Charles Godager, daughters Leslie (Bill) Matthews, and Laurie Godager. He is survived by his sister Betty Nelson, nieces, and nephew, daughters Marcie (Ruben) Chavez, Christie (Mark) Young his 8 grand children, 12 great grand children, and his great great grandson.

Ben served in the Marines from 1950-1953 and was a Korean War hero. After the Marines he settled in Roseville California, where he worked odd jobs, he drove for Hamms beer, worked at a liquor store until he got a job with Placer county on the road crew, he retired from the county in 1995.

Ben loved baseball, and played semi pro ball for a while. He also enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and going to the casino. He was a member of the moose lodge. A special thank you to Michelle Stutzman who he called his 5th daughter for being with him and taking such good care of him as his daughters lived out of state.

Ben lived a full life. He enjoyed his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
