I was privileged to meet and work with Bishop Quinn on the Tohono O'odham Nation. He was deeply loved and respected by all members of the Nation. Bishop Quinn said morning Mass one day in Sister Jose Hobday's apartment. Afterwards he shared with us that his mother's wedding ring was embedded in the base of his chalice. I was very touched by this. He was truly a kind and gentle shepherd. Our sun shines a little less bright with his loss but a new star shines brightly in the heavens.

When the "Good Guys" case went to trial in San Francisco in 1995 Bishop Quinn testified. The father of the Defendant, Loi Nguyen, was the "Go to Guy" for 15,000 Vietmanese in the Sacramento Valley. He was a great witness.
blessings be upon him

I was an altar boy at Sacred heart high School in 1954.I knew him well.He helped me go to the seminary. Later he was my bishop in Sacramento when I taught college. I helped him move to the new chancery in 1999 the year I retired. He lived the life of a saint and I feel I knew a real saint in every meaning of the word. I am sure he meets all qualificactions. His presence in the lives he touched will not fade.He made mine better. A new home is being built in the cosmos for his great soul. His life was an affirmation to the dignity of Man.

Our thoughts and Prayers go out to the family of Bishop Francis Quinn. We will always remember Bishop Quinn when he came out to the Saint Rose Church in South Sacramento. He was such a nice, friendly person and served his community well. May He Rest In Peace. Sincerely, Glorianna Schad and family.

The dioceses of San Francisco, Sacramento and Tucson were blessed with God's touch through our beloved and exemplary priest, Bishop and Bishop emeritus. Memories from Bishop Manogue H.S. liturgies, his conferring our Manogue diplomas, serving New Year's Eve turkey dinner to the homeless at the Cathedral, a private tour of the churches on the reservations in Tucson, and most recently observing interactions with his fellow residents and attending Sunday vigil mass at MMT are engraved in my mind. I will remember his faithful devotion to his vocation, his faith, and all people irrespective of their faith. His love for life, sense of humor - always throwing in an unexpected quip and then beaming a wry smile! Heaven rejoices and memories comfort.
Dear Bishop Quinn - Thank you, Mil gracias por ser un hombre que inspiró mi fe - Te recordare por siempre -

Bishop Quinn will never be forgotten. He led by example in his daily commitment to social justice making the world a much better place. He was always welcoming and kind during visits at Mercy McMahon. May he rest in peace. His legacy will be everlasting.
