Blaine Hayword Obituary

HAYWORD (HINK), BLAINE
ALLEN
Born November 24, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. Left us suddenly on June 20, 2002. Blaine's family moved from Petaluma, CA to West Sacramento where he graduated from James Marshall High in 1962. He joined the Army and served at Fort Hychicha, AZ. He was a civilian employee for McClellan AFB for 29 years. He enjoyed his retirement as an accomplished artist, attending part-time casino parties, and spending time with his dog, "Max" and family, especially his 2 grandsons which were the light of his life. He donated to many organizations including the United Bay Vets, Special Olympics, Food Bank, Vietnam Vets, Housing California, and the Shriners. Blaine will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Blaine's memory will live forever in his family's hearts. He had the most easy going outlook and wit; he loved to tease; his smile lit up our world. Precious son of Claus (Bud) and Jeanne Hink of Citrus Heights. Loving father to Julie Hayword of Granite Bay, Michael Hayword and his wife, Lori of Roseville, his two adoring grandsons, Bryce and Vincent. Cherished brother of Susan and her husband Gary Simpson of Orangevale. Loving uncle to Jeanne Perini of Orangevale, Anthony Zito of Citrus Heights, Scott Simpson of North Dakota, and Sean Simpson of Grass Valley. Great uncle to Jillan and Jessica Perini. Preceded in death by his nephew, Joseph A. Perini and his grandmother, Therese Jeanne Genovese. Donations may be made in Blaine's name to favorite charities. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2002 at 10:00 am at Mount Vernon Memorial Park Church of the Valley , 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA. A reception immediately following at The Elks Club #6, 6446 Riverside Blvd. Sacramento, CA.

Mike, Lori and Bryce -

I am sad at the news I received today regarding the passing of your father.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I wish there were words to help ease the pain of your loss.

Time will help with the healing of loss, but in your heart is where the beautiful memories and the funny stories are stored and they will help to ease your pain, slowly.

I didn't know your father, but I know that he raised a wonderful son, husband and father in you, Mike.

He also gave you his gift of friendship, because Toby and I have been recipents of that gift.

I thank you, Blaine, for the gift of your son, Mike, as a friend and I know that you will be missed by many.

Our Love and Prayers,

Respectfully,

Deborah Quon and Toby Merlo
