Brian Smith Obituary

Brian Thomas Smith
May 4, 1960 - March 3, 2023
Roseville, California - Brian Thomas Smith was born on May 4, 1960, the third child to Robert Earl and Virginia Lou Smith. He was raised in Loomis and lived his entire life in Placer County.
Brian grew up participating in youth sports, but wrestling was his real passion. In 1978 he became the first League and Sub-Section Champion at Del Oro High School, where the program has continued to thrive since his success. He later attended Sierra College where he became a Bay Valley Conference Champion in 1981.
Through Brian's life he had the opportunity to build many relationships and memories with an abundance of people throughout the community. Brian's chosen career was construction and he excelled as a framer. His renovation projects transformed Old Roseville. His work ethic was well known and appreciated by all who had the opportunity to cross his path.
Some of Brian's most fond times were spent in the Roseville 20/30 Club. He joined with a group of his best friends and went on to make countless more lifelong friendships during his time with the Club. One of his favorite activities to participate in was the annual Christmas shopping outing to the local Mervyn's with underprivileged youth from the area.
Brian participated for decades in men's slow pitch softball, but most important to him was his tenure as the long-time pitcher for the Denio's team in Roseville.
Brian loved to golf with his buddies and his men's group at Haggin Oaks. He always looked forward to the annual Thanksgiving golf trip to South Carolina.
Brian passed away March 3, 2023, after a 16-month battle with melanoma. He passed away peacefully at home under the care and love of family. He will be remembered as a loving brother, fun uncle, passionate sports enthusiast, skilled contractor, and caring contributor to the community.
In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, please honor Brian by being proactive with your own health.
You will be missed, BTS!
