On Thursday, June 14, 2012, we lost the greatest man in the world. Brian Lawrence Velasco, 46, passed away Thursday morning.
Now when I say the greatest man in the world, I'm not just saying that because he was my father. He was the most loving, caring, and respected guy. He was such an impact on every single person's life that he knew. Especially his family. The thing about my dad was he didn't care about anything else besides his family. His absolute number one priority in life was to be with his family or make his family happy. He was a loyal husband, amazing father to his children, and the nicest guy you could ever talk to. But if you did talk to him, you would talk to him for at least an hour.
Brian was an electrician and an amazing one. He was the hardest worker I know and will ever know. He was always fixing stuff around the house and for his friends. He always had a solution to make things work out. I always wanted to be just like him but better, we were so competitive with everything we did. Brian was so loved by everybody he ever talked to because he was just such a lovable person, there was nothing you wouldn't like about my dad. He was always smiling, always talking about his family and friends, and he would always put a smile on your face. It's horrible that such a great person was taken from us. I know any one of his family members or friends would do anything to get him back in a heartbeat. He is in a better place now and I know he his having fun up there watching down on all of us. You will be in our hearts forever and never be forgotten. I miss and love you so much dad.
Brian is survived by his wife, Patti, his daughters Brooke and Caytlyn and his son Jacob; his father Lawrence Velasco, his mom Mary Patricia Velasco, his sisters Cindy Stephen, Christa Spencer, Mandy Rhodes, Bethany Patrick, Amy Velasco, brother Aaron Velasco and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial services will be held on June 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1501 Hillcrest Ave., Livermore, CA 94550

Brian, I enjoyed our time together, we had alot of fun. I remember when you used to pick me up at school and we would go drive around in your Camaro, listening to music. Good times! Hanging out with Floyd and lots of laughs. You were a very sweet guy,. Funny thing is I was thinking about you last week and this popped up on my phone today. Love you much!

Brian,

I love you so much and miss you each and every day. I am always saddened that you never got to meet your youngest nephew, Landon. You are so great with babies and kids and I loved watching you with my kids. I will always cherish the last time I got to spend with you... My whole family, Mom was with us, the missionaries were over for dinner... You fed Sadie and cleaned her up and played with her like she was yours and were so sweet with her. We watched Jack and Jill with Adam Sandler and laughed and laughed! You gave me an hour long back massage!!! It was so sweet! I know that you wanted to do something nice for me because I was uncomfortable and pregnant :) There was and is an amazing amount of good in you. I miss you. I miss you every day. Now Eric's Dad Mark can be with you and take good care of you. I know that you are with other loved ones as well. I'm so grateful to Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the gospel and all that we have... that we can all be together again. We all love you and miss you so very much. You are the best. Take care... till we meet up with you again Bri. Love you... Mandy

Brian Lawrence Velasco. My wife Pat and I were blessed with two GREAT sons, one was Brian and the other is Aaron. We also, were blessed with five wonderful daughters. Brian was the oldest. He was a friend to all of us and an older brother to his six siblings. As my son I was able to work and learn with him. He had a great mind. The Lord blessed him with much knowledge. He had the ability to feel things before they happened. Maybe not being able to see things but feel them. As his Father, Dad and Pop, I can tell you the empty spot will never go away. But, on the other side of things, I will always have his memory to be with me, I know he is here. To his wife Patti, my sweet daughter-in-law, you are so special to me and all of us. I know you know how much Brian loved you and your kids. I love you too. To all of my children, Aaron, Amy, Bethany, Mandy and Cindy, Please know how much I love ALL of you and so happy to be your father. Thanks to Pat for helping bring these fine children, now adults into this world. We both love all of you very much. I thank my wife LaVerne for being there to support me and you. I love her. Thanks to Brian's friends who loved him during his stay on this earth. Please know, he loves each and every one of you. Now, REST IN PEACE my son, brother, uncle, nephew HUSBAND, FATHER and friend. Brian, WE ALL LOVE YOU,
Your father, dad and pop.
I thank OUR HEAVENLY FATHER for the Plan of Salvation he prepared for each and every one of us.

Brian, my big brother, my friend:) I love him so much. What a privilege it was to be his sister and feel unconditional love from him during my earthly life. There was never a doubt in my mind how much he loved me, or anyone else in the family for that matter. He wanted everyone to feel special and went out of his way to do so. Whether he was remembering to wish someone "Happy Birthday" or buying them a belated birthday present, or inviting them to his home, he made everyone feel important. And man was he helpful!!! You could not keep him from doing the dishes, playing with the kids, fixing a meal, fixing something electrical, taking out the garbage or just about anything he could do to serve someone else. There are so many beautiful things we can take from his life. He was an amazing person with many strengths. I'm so lucky and proud to call Brian Lawrence Velasco my brother, for now and through the eternities. I love you, Brian!
