Buddy Lagene Trumbo
August 5, 1930 - January 1, 2023
Lewisburg, Tennessee - Buddy at the age of 92, left this world New Year's Day. He is survived by 3 children; April Trumbo Wilson, TN, Lannie & Holly McClure, CA; 4 grandchildren, 9 Gt-grandchildren; sisters Marilyn Trumbo Hinzman & Linda Trumbo Miller & several nieces and nephews. Born in Springfield, MO, moved to Sacramento, CA until 2021 to live with his devoted daughter in TN until his death. As a young boy he learned to drum by listening to records of Gene Krupa & imitating him with his drumsticks on the floor. As an adult he performed for over 70 years at venues all over the Sacramento area, with several famous musicians including Dizzy Gillespie. He performed in the first Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in 1973. Buddy was elected as Deputy Sheriff of Placer County, Tahoe, CA, where he served from 1964 to 1968. This was one of his proudest accomplishments. He had other employment prior to his service as Deputy Sheriff, i.e., AeroJet General, Security, and McClellan AFB where he retired.
